What a Weekend...Never a Dull One

Well, I'm back....this weekend we went to Pickering/Ajax area to David's last hockey tournament for this season with his Tyke Select Team. They were up against A center teams...that play together all year as a team. Our team, practices or has a game as a team maybe once a week or as time/ice is available. Needless to say our boys put on a great show. They ended up 4th. David played his little heart out. I did have one BIG scare. He always goes after the puck at 100 miles an hour. He went into the corner and a player from the Ajax team followed him into the corner. The Ajax player checked him from behind and David went head first into the boards. My heart stopped along with everyone sitting in the stands. Our Trainer wasted no time in going to David as it looked terrible. After 3 or so minutes on the ice(felt like forever waiting for him to move) David got up and went to the bench where they re-checked him and let him sit out a period..thank goodness the big guy was watching over him.
So Saturday evening everyone on the team gathered to watch the leafs game vs. the Habs. A great time was to be had by all........WELL......almost. The kids were having fun, going from room to room visiting all their friends. Next thing we had a phone call from the desk saying some kids were stuck in the elevator...we thought it was a joke, as there were some practical jokes had gone on during the day. Thirty minutes later as the fire department arrive, we find out it wasn't a joke. Six of our kids from the team were on the elevator. Yes, my 2 girls were on there....the kids got out, all were crying except my oldest....no doubt....we got the settled and we dealt with the "$&#*&$^%" of a manager. I didn't get along with her from the time we checked in. She blamed our kids for the elevator getting stuck...I had to remind her She posted the note on the elevator stating "Over use, may stop the elevator"....What she didn't know was one of the Dad's on the team is an elevator repair man, he was the one that got the kids out. He said don't even go there, it wasn't the kids fault...its the elevator....It wasn't a pretty site...LOL....needless to say, the manager disappeared for the remainder of her shift. I think a few of the parents were putting official complaints in.
So we came home and had our Easter and we'll get ready for next weekend for the Provincials for Stacey.
I sure hope this hotel is used to hockey teams. I just wish that if hotels don't like kids, then don't let hockey teams book in their hotels. Just one more note to everyone out there that has more than 2 kids..........yes.........When I checked into the hotel, they asked how many staying.....so I said 5...2 adults, 3 kids....she said, well we can't have that....I went What?? She replies, we can't have more than 4 in a room....so you can imagine my reply.....
"What would you like me to do with my 5 yr old???She 's sleeping with us...."....she said"you have to book another room"......."Well that's not going to happen", I said....so my friend beside me replies, we'll take one of yours...lol......so lesson to be learned....never let on you have more than 4 people in one room.
I try to post again this week, we're busy every nite with something....Oh I almost forgot...Bruce went back to work today....oh yea.....
