From there I went to work....just in time to meet a black and white friend....NOT. We knew that there were skunks around the shop, but we were hoping they would go away. Wishful thinking. Apparently this morning, one of the skunks was looking pretty stupid, so Trevor threw some rocks at it, hoping it would go away, as it was not far from the fuel tanks. Well, the skunk didn't like that and started to come towards him. So the rocks got bigger...and down went mister skunk. By the time I got there, mister skunk was behind the fuel tank, trying to regain strength and move. Every now and then he moved a few inches, we knew his time was limited, but we also knew or at least guessed that it is probably rabbit. They were in the process of trying to reach someone to dispose of the critter.
So I went into the shop and picked up my work and was leary about returned back to the truck as 30 minutes had passed and I really wasn't convinced that my black and white friend had given up yet. So I opened the door, oh so slowly and looked and shut the door quickly...HE WAS GONE....CRAP....where was he.....everyone thought that this was funny, as I'm crouching down looking under the pickups for the little critter. The last thing I wanted was to smell like "eau du skunk"....so I got braver and went a little further and there he was , about 10 feet further and right behind Trevor's pickup, twitching and face up but still trying to move.....It didn't take me long to get to my truck....I'm just glad I didn't bring Dakota with me today...the thought did cross my mind as I was getting ready to leave this am.
So I needed a Timmy's coffee after that experience..(or at least that was enough of an excuse to drive by a Timmy's...)came home and got some work done, cleaned up and waited for my nephew Owen to come over. Barb had called Sunday nite and asked if I could watch Owen for a few hours as they were in a pinch for a sitter. So around 1 p.m. they arrived and we chilled out for the afternoon. He is such a little cutie. He isn't feeling the greatest so he slept most of the time, but still we had a visit with the kids when they got home from school. They were all very excited to see him.
Barb came and picked Owen up around 5ish. He was glad to see his mommy.
I got supper ready for the kids...Kraft Diner...upon their request, as Bruce is up on the Bay of Quinte fishing...and its COLD.....LOL. I helped complete their homework ...( I didn't think I was going to have to redo grade school three more times in my life.....), bathed them and got them ready for bed...I had them asleep by 9 p.m. tonight. I think thats a record, since Brooke is against this thing called SLEEP. So it only took 70 minutes to convince them to close their eyes tonight.
Well I'm just finshing up some work and laundry, then off to bed, ready for a full day with Brooke tomorrow...
